Input from the Swedish Transport Administration regarding the amendment and updating of the Site development Plan pursuant to Offshore Wind Energy Act in Germany

The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency has received a notification from Germany about the addition and update of an offshore wind power plan with a strategic environmental assessment and is now conducting consultations in Sweden. Raised production targets for offshore wind power in Germany have led to the need for additions and updates to the current plan. The proposal contains larger areas for wind power in the North Sea. There is also a need for in-depth environmental assessment regarding the impact on migratory birds for the previously proposed wind power area in the Baltic Sea.

Opinion from the Swedish Transport Administration

The expanded areas for wind power does not affect Sweden’s fairways or infrastructure. The areas in the Baltic Sea are the same as before and the Swedish Transport Administration therefore has no input regarding Germany’s addition to its offshore wind power plan.

Decision

This statement has been approved and decided by unit manager Rami Yones.
