ENERGIKONTOR SYDOST AB är en regional kraft och vägvisare till ett hållbart energi- och transportsystem. Vårt mål är minskad klimatpåverkan och ökad regional utveckling genom satsningar på förnybar energi och energieffektivisering. Arbetet utförs i nära samarbete med både privata och offentliga aktörer i sydöstra Sverige, myndigheter och europeiska partners.

Mini-Bryssel i Växjö när 65 borgmästare gästar Europas grönaste stad
Logistiken när 65 icke-engelsktalande borgmästare ska guidas runt i Växjö är imponerande. Med tolkar och ett komplett elektroniskt tolksystem vandrar de runt och tittar på bl.a. lasarettets fjärrkylsystem, cykelboxarna på Stortorget och de energieffektiva trähusen på Välle broar.
Från den 30 maj till 1 juni gästas Växjö av borgmästare från Tyskland, Frankrike Italien och Polen. De kommer för att personligen se och höra mer om de goda exempel som Växjö kan visa upp när det gäller energi- och klimatarbete, både praktiskt och strategiskt.
Eftersom många av de gästande borgmästarna inte talar engelska så kommer allt att direkttolkas. Det finns bara två företag i Sverige som har den här typen av utrustning och det ligger lång planering bakom mötet för att få allt att fungera.
”Växjö har en lång tradition av att ligga lång framme i energifrågor. Staden var den tredje i världen, efter New York och London, att installera elektrisk gatubelysning” säger Sarah Nilsson, projektledare på Energikontor Sydost, ”och nu ligger Växjö i framkant i klimatfrågor.”
Besöket är en del i projektet EnercitEE som Energikontor Sydost driver. Besöket börjar på onsdag kväll med middag på Villa Vik. På torsdagen sker rundvandringen med åtta olika stopp. Se följande sidor för alla stoppen på rundvandringen. Besöket avslutas på fredagen med samtal och paneldiskussion. Deltagare bland annat: Bo Frank, Åsa Karlsson Björkmarker, Ulf Hedin, Werner Sommer, Christian Borchard och Gunnar Nordmark.
