Reusing
How much of the waste we throw away in the recyclin bins could actually be reused? We need to start taking care of our resources by mending, trading and value the things we already own.

Case study: Returbutiken
Returbutiken at Gimonäs repairs, sells and takes care of products that are donated to them. The organization consists of a store, a workshop and storage.
The goal is to make sure that as little as possible goes to waste. The spa- ces in the workshop are adaptable to make sure that they have space to mend almost anything, from watches to furniture. Things that are out of season gets stored away until the need for them appears again.

Key spatial programs
Filter
The Filter would function as a storage unit, where people could come and go as they please, trading goods with each other.
Workshop
A place to bring things that needs reparing, either from the Filter or from home.
Store
The store would function as a exhibition place, to be able to curate the items produced in the workshop.
Sharing resources
Most neighbourhoods in Sweden have a place to recycle but few have a dedicated space to share resources. In some cases, a simple shelf would suffice.

Framing the square
This strategy would frame the main square without enclosing it. It also frames the small park already existing on the site.
Dividing the square
This strategy would force people through the filter but also divide the square into two separate units.
Surrounding the square
Lining up with the buildings on the street oppo- site the square would create a new street scape but isloate the square from the street.

Creating a grid as guideline
Reuse
The structure should be easy to be both assambled and dissambled without destroying the materials.
Volume
The two volumes would provide stability while the structure in between could expand depen- ding on needs.

Scaffolding structure
Temporary structure that is easy to assamble and dissamble.
Elements
Vertical posts connect to horizontal members, with braces inbetween for stabilty. The structure also requires additional parts to function, such as
stairs, roof and shelter. Stairs

Scaffolding net
Scaffolding net is easy to assemble and can be
placed directly onto the structure. It protects things from blowing off the structure but does not protect from wind and rain.
Plywood
Could be placed on the structure by a frame. Could protect from most weather.
Shingles
Could be produced in the workshop from materials already existing in the neighbourhood.

Flows of goods and people
People
The connection from the city to the train station, making people pass through the Filter.
Resources
Resources would flow through the Filter, from the
workshop to the store, from the Filter to the workshop, from peoples home into other peoples homes.
Traffic
Vehicles would be able to pass around the filter, ena- bling a drop off zone for both resources and people.
