Sara Flodin is a British/Swedish registered orthoptist who graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1997. Since 1998 she has been employed at the eye department at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg. In 2014 she graduated from Sheffield University with a Masters degree in Vision and
Strabismus, and in 2016 she enrolled as a PhD student at the University of Gothenburg.
Alongside her PhD work, she works as a specialist clinician in the strabismus team at Mölndal, is the president of the Swedish national orthoptic association (SIOF), sits as a Swedish representative for the working committee of the OCE and is the project manager for the Erasmus plus project “EDORTH” for the University of Gothenburg. She will also be the new course leader for the Orthopic program starting at the University of Gothenburg in 2021.
Throughout her career in orthoptics, Sara has presented her work at several international and national conferences, and won the “best poster award” at the ESONT annual meeting in Paris 2019.
