Mål

The course will provide a “hands-on” introduction to the creation and then management of innovation.

The goals of the course are to establish a shared language of innovation by tearing down the traditional walls between the different academic disciplines.

Students will acquire specific creative and management skills that exploit innovation as a cross disciplinary strategy and thus better understand the interdependency between the disciplines.

Kursinnehåll

The course will build partnerships between participants through an

understanding as well as an appreciation that the language of innovation and entrepreneurship is universal.

In seminars and lectures devoted to a close reading of theories of innovation and entrepreneurship, the shared language will be established. The language will be put into play in a “hands on” interdisciplinary case-study. Working collaboratively, participants will design a break through innovation, real or imagined, and then continue the collaboration by preparing a strategic plan for this new growth enterprise. The plan will include finding and creating new markets for the innovation and managing the development of new markets and new technologies.

The course will incorporate lectures, debates, and exercises by the participants as well as leaders in the field. The participants will also create a final project to be presented publicly. An emphasis will be put on presentation skills.
