5. Slutsats

5.4 Förslag på fortsatt forskning

Även om vi upplever att den modell som vi sammanställt ger en bra bild av affärssystemsanvändandet finns det rimligtvis ytterligare variabler som modellen kan utökas med för att ge en ännu bättre bild av affärssystemsanvändningen. I framtida forskning skulle det vara fördelaktigt att använda modellen i mer omfattande studier för att verifiera och identifiera förbättringsområden med avseende på modellens utformning.

Det skulle vara intressant att undersöka det branschperspektiv som vi snuddat vid under analysen. Att på ett tydligare vis klargöra om det finns skillnader mellan olika typer av branscher och hur affärssystemsanvändandet i sådana fall varierar mellan dem. Genom att identifiera eventuella skillnader mellan olika branscher kan modellen möjligen bransch- anpassas.

Ytterligare studier skulle kunna visa om det existerar skillnader mellan hur ett optimalt systemanvändande ser ut inom olika branscher. Intuitionen säger oss exempelvis att ett internetföretag förmodligen är i större behov av ett välintegrerat affärssystem med många användare än en matbutik. Därför är det, med tanke på företagstyp, kanske inte alltid är nödvändigt att eftersträva att använda alla de funktionaliteter som systemet erbjuder. Möjligen klarar sig en skobutik väl med att endast använda sig ett affärssystems ekonomi och

lagermoduler. Man kan också tänka sig att inom denna typ av företag inte bör tvinga alla potentiella användare att använda systemet, kanske det är effektivare om en eller flera särskilt ansvariga sköter det. Det är inte rimligt att kräva att alla potentiella användare på företaget ska använda systemet om detta inte gynnar dem. Genom ytterligare forskning kan man identifiera denna typ av insikter kring branschskillnader som man måste ta hänsyn till då man med hjälp av modellen utvärderar systemanvändningen.

Då man studerar ett specifikt företag kan det vara gynnsamt att titta på till vilken grad ett affärssystem vanligen är integrerat i affärsprocesser inom branschen. Om den vanliga integreringsgraden är 30 procent så är det möjligen naivt att kräva att det företag man studerar ska ha en integrering på 100 procent.

En annan aspekt är att vår modell fungerar som en ren utvärderingsmodell skulle det vara möjligt att koppla den till mer specifik kunskap kring hur dessa problem kan lösas. Detta har diskuterats i samband med analys.
