7 Empirisk analys

8.4 Förslag till framtida forskning

Uppsatsens teoretiska bidrag bereder god väg för att fortsätta utveckla såväl kostnadslogiken som den strategiska logiken. Det är två idealistiska sätt att förstå sig på världen men som även får tydliga empiriska belägg i och med studiens resultat. Med utgångspunkt i det vill vi sända en uppmaning till framtida forskare att studera under vilka givna omständigheter som dessa logiker kommer ta sin form. Det vill säga, vad det är som driver en beslutsfattare till att bli mer eller mindre strategisk eller kostnadslogisk.

Är det kontexten som företaget befinner sig i eller är det beslutfattarens egen person och erfarenheter som påverkar utfallet av en viss logik? En sådan studie skulle kunna bidra till kompletterad kunskap inom området och hjälpa till att öka förståelsen för de bakomliggande resonemangen som en beslutsfattare har. En studie med ett sådant syfte

skulle även stärka både TCE:s och RBV:s framväxt och utveckling inom forskningsområdet för outsourcing. Det skulle även komplettera resultaten från denna studie och förhoppningsvis stärka trovärdigheten i det som vi kommer fram till.

Ytterligare ett förslag till framtida forskning är att implementera tanken kring hur beslutfattarens syn på kontexten påverkar utfallet av outsourcingbeslutet. Det hade varit väldigt intressant att ta en mer kvantitativ riktning och integrera en modererande variabel som omfattas av beslutsfattarnas förhållningssätt till processen som ska outsourcas. Vi tror att en sådan riktning hade kunnat öka förklaringsgraden för hur olika variabler påverkar beslutet att outsourca. De resultat som genereras kan sedan jämföras med tidigare studier för att lyfta upp kontextens verkliga påverkan på beslutet. Genom en sådan studie kan det vi kommit fram till i denna uppsats utvecklas vidare och även stötta litteraturen i den nyanseringen som hjälper oss att förstå ett outsourcingbeslut till fullo.
