Framtida forskning

Då rapporten endast bygger på exempel från fyra olika företag så skulle eventuell framtida forskning kunna innehålla en bredare studie där fler företags användning av RFID studeras. Genom att genomföra strukturerade intervjuer för att undersöka användningen av RFID hos ett tjugotal företag eller fler inom de två detaljhandeln och industrin så skulle man kunna komma fram till en generell slutsats för användningen av RFID i detaljhandeln och industrin och en bredare jämförelse än den som presenteras i denna rapport skulle kunna göras.

Man kan även tänka sig att utöka de branscherna som har studerats i rapporten. Istället för att endast jämföra användningsområden för RFID inom detaljhandeln och industrin skulle användningen av tekniken inom ytterligare branscher som till exempel sjukvården och försvaret kunna studeras och jämföras. Detta skulle leda till en mer övergripande studie över användningen av RFID i samhället.
