Framtida studier på läshastighet på textnivå bör göras i andra delar av Sverige för att komplettera den aktuella studiens resultat och öka generaliserbarheten. I den aktuella studien observerades en tendens till att flerspråkiga deltagare hade en lägre läshastighet än enspråkiga deltagare. I framtida studier bör därför detta tas i beaktande. För att få ett representativt resultat för populationen bör även andelen deltagare med lässvårigheter kontrolleras.
Framtida studier skulle även kunna undersöka hur läshastigheten utvecklas och hur läshastighet på textnivå ser ut i olika åldrar. Detta skulle kunna bidra till kunskap om när den automatiska igenkänningen börjar utvecklas och när den stabiliserar sig och börjar efterlikna den mogna läsförmågan som finns hos många vuxna läsare.
5. Slutsats
Medelläshastigheten vid textläsning för eleverna i årskurs 3 var M = 90,85. Resultatet visade ingen signifikant skillnad i läshastighet, läsförståelse eller antal läsfel vid textläsning mellan pojkar och flickor i årskurs 3. Grupperna var inte homogena, vilket kan ha påverkat resultatet. Resultatet av denna studie kan fungera som ett riktmärke för förväntad läshastighet i årskurs 3.
Flera studier med ett större antal deltagare och homogena grupper behövs för att fastställa läshastigheten på textläsning i årskurs 3.
