Konklussion

De mätmetoder som används inom diagnostisering utav TMD är inom sjukgymnastens yrkes kompetens. Fastän MRI inte kan utföras utav sjukgymnaster kan sjukgymnasten remittera till radiologen för undersökning och omdiagnostisering. Rörelseträning och hemövningar är en effektiv behandlingsmetod för TMD. Konservativa metoder är lika effektiva som specialtillverkade bettskenor. Akupunktur behandlar myofaciella smärtor effektivt. Sjukgymnastens och dennes holistiska syn på patienten kan vara lika effektivt vid diagnostisering och behandling som en tandläkare.
