I studiens resultat framkom det att sjuksköterskor i sitt arbete med närstående som mist anhörig i suicid, upplevde likartade känslor som de närstående uppvisar efter anhörigs suicid. Dessa känslomässiga reaktioner som

professionen kunde mötas av beskrevs som svåra att hantera speciellt om brist av formellt stöd i organisationen saknades. I värsta fall kan en sådan bristfällig organisation i verksamheten leda till att den stress som de som arbetar med närstående efter anhörigs suicid utvecklar en psykisk ohälsa.
Forskning visar att det finns brister i verksamheter som arbetar med att stödja närstående efter anhörigs suicid, vilket även framkom i resultatet i den där här studien. En formellt strukturerad organisation som ger stöd för de yrkesgrupper som arbetar med suicidprevention där även närstående efter anhörigs suicid ingår, kan utformas i form av ett team. Teamet skulle även kunna verka som ett mer övergripande stöd för konsultering, då
organisationerna på olika vårdnivåer startar upp ”sitt” organisationsteam.
Detta kommer att bli nödvändigt då två tredjedelar av de som suiciderat inte har haft någon kontakt med psykiatrin. Detta kan komma att innebära att majoriteten av de närstående kommer att söka sig till andra instanser utanför den psykiatriska vården och som då behöver kunna ta emot dessa närstående när behovet uppstår i ett led mot att minska risken för suicid.
Framtida forskning vore av vikt gällande olika organisationers
framgångsfaktorer i arbetet med suicidprevention. Detta för att på sikt få en mer nationell- och internationell sammanställning om hur vi arbetar aktivt i verksamheterna både gällande de närståendes och de personalgruppers stöd i organisationen. Arbetet med att möta närstående efter anhörigs suicid
behöver struktur och som kontinuerligt utvärderas.
