1 Inledning

8.1 Vidare forskning

Uppsatsen skrapar bara på ytan när den belyser potentialen för nudging i arbetet med miljö- och hållbar utveckling. Flera fördjupningar behöver göras, både för att lära sig mer om vilka typer av nudges som fungerar men också för att förbättra tillämpningen av beteendeinsikter.

Under den period som jag arbetat med dessa studier har det väckts flera tankar om framtida forskningsbehov.

45 Det finns ett självklart förslag för vidare forskning med relevans för detta arbete. Detta vore att

undersöka effekten av rekommendationerna som lyfts. Ett annat intressant område att undersöka (med djupare avgränsning) är intuitioner och principer i mänskligt beteende som leder till ohållbara

beteenden. Detta är en fråga som varit återkommande när hållbarhetsutmaningar reflekterats kring ur ett beteendeperspektiv. Studien bidrar också delvis till hypotesen att människor endast engagerar sig i miljövänligt beteende när det är enkelt, något som bekräftats i flera empiriska pilotstudier som uppsatsen baseras på. Någonting som lyfts i uppsatsen är prövning av diverse beteendeförändrande arbetsmodeller, så som riktlinjerna, ovan- underperspektiven mm. Ett förslag är att utforska skillnader i tillämpningen av inventioner enligt de, i denna uppsats förslagsgivna, ovan- under perspektiven.

Utöver detta skulle utformandet av socioekologiska modeller för nudges i miljösammanhang kunna tillföra kunskap som saknas vid utformningen av åtgärder. Detta skulle vidga den idag konceptdrivna bilden av faktorer som påverkar ett visst miljöbeteende. Socioekologiska modeller vore ett lämpligt verktyg (Brunswick & Spaccarotella, 2009) för att kartlägga dynamiken mellan olika faktorer (Richard, Gauvin, & Raine, 2011).

Som det belystes följde pilotstudien -fallet för mindre matsvinn en explorativ kvalitativ metod.

Kvalitativa och kvantitativa forskningsmodeller är två metoder som kompletterar varandra och som Immanuel Kant sa: ”Erfarenhet utan teori är blind men teori utan erfarenhet är mest en intellektuell lek” (Kant, 1724-1804). För att stärka prevalensen av slutsatser i pilotstudien skulle en mer fördjupad kvantitativ studie kunna genomföras. En sådan ansats skulle kunna göra det observerade beteendet mer generaliserbart för den stora skaran.
