I studien fann vi fynd som hade varit intressanta att forska vidare om. I intervjuerna skilde sig åsikterna åt kring övervakning av produktivitet via en robot. Detta hade vi gärna sett vidare forskning inom, men det skulle kräva längre tid då Hawthorne-effekten kan spela in. (Landsberger, 1958). Aspekter som nyckeltal, hur långt mätningen av produktivitet kan automatiseras samt hur chefer hanterar beslut kring dessa nyckeltal hade varit intressanta att gå in djupare på. Motståndet kring automatisering med RPA hade vi gärna sett mer forskning inom då vi inte stötte på något sådant, men är övertygade om att det finns. Fallstudier framställde att anställda visade känslor eller knöt band till robotarna (Lacity, Willcocks & Craig, 2015a & 2015b). I vår studie fann vi dock inga fynd som indikerade att så skulle vara fallet. Vidare forskning inom detta hade varit önskvärt.
Vi hade velat se vidare forskning inom RPA och hur den utvecklas när marknaden går från blå ocean till en röd ocean.
- Hur kommer RPA-användning och -utveckling påverkas av att Open Source-utvecklare kliver in på marknaden?
- Kan det vara en bubbla just nu som är på väg att spricka?
- Kommer stödverktyg utvecklas vidare så processägare i framtiden kommer att kunna konfigurera roboten utan en programmerares assistans?
