Dear
Par
shall
I
received your curve of discharge for the eight
foot Parshall flume to be installed by the Twin Lakes Company at
'
4
'
the east portal of the
· win lakes tunnel. Many thanks.
I
undertsnad that work has not yet been commenced on the flume
0In all probability the lining of the tunnel will not be completed
until about
~~y 15tho The amount
of
water that they will be able to
get thru this year will not be great and will not
go
far on 40000 acre
of lando
In
all my experience in the irkansas falley
I
have never seen
conditions
~irrigations~and
prospects so discouraging as they are this Spring.
This is the second
eonsecutive
season that we have not been able to
K~
secure any storage water for the oldest reservoirso
W
e absolutely have
no irrigation storage.
I
have never befofe seen such bad dust stormso
fhese
dust storms remind me of descriptions
I
have read of sand storms
L
in
the
~ahara
desert and desertsfn Asia.
Our people feel very hopeful that the Oaddoa reservoir will be
~xi
built by a Santa Clauso
We
have also male application to the
P.W.A.
for an appropriation of $150000o
to be given the Reclamation service
for Trans-mountain surveys for water for the 1trijansas Valley and for
6ompensat1ng
Storage on the Western Slopeo lepresentatives have been
sent to Washington on both these propositions and have brought back
favorable reportso
W
e all wonder how long this dry spell will last
0Regards to
you.
Yours
truly
