The Alaak , Yuko n Mines, Sagauche Co., Colo,

The Alaska Yukon Group of mines are located in Sagaache County, seven miles from Parling, Colorado, which is the nearest railroad point with a pood road to the mines.

The property consists of nine claims, two of them "being patent­ ed. Their true fissure veins in a contract of schist and diorite, runninr northeast and southwe at.

The Alaska has a shaft on the dip of the vein 30 degress south­ east, 160 feet deep, with the following amount of drifting.

65 Ft. Level W. 15, Length 25 ft., 16 inches ore, carrying $4.60 in go$d and silver, 18^ ainc.

64 Pt. 8. W. Length 18 ft., 15 inches ore, carrying $4.00 gold and silver, 23^ sine.

108 Pt. Level N. IS. L ength 13 ft., 16 inches ore, carrying 34.60 in gold and silver, 36 fisine.

12 samples taken from the 103 Poot Level to the "bottom of t he shaft averaging 22 inches wide and carrying #4.50 in gold and silver and 40)? zinc.

The Yukon Shaft is 580 Peet S. W. of the Alaska Shaft on the same vein wit! a cross vein intersecting the main vein in the shaft, carrying high value.in gold, silver and copper. The formation

somewhat varies from the Alaska, having some porphyry and a strong iron capping. The shaft is 55 feet with two drifts at the bottom. !T, I. Drift 16 feet in length, showing 16 inches of ore, $3,30

in gold and silver, 13)? zinc. 3. W. Drift, 20 feet in length, showing a hig body of copper and zinc ore at the point where the copper vein crosses. The copper vein averages from 13 to 26 inches wide, three samples showing from 18 to 23)? copper, $4 30 in gold and silver.

All the other claims have good surface showings, especially the "Belle Claim, which have a shaft 40 feet deep sunk through a strong iron capping, showing considerable copper. Samples taken running from 4 to 16: .

The Yukon Shaft is 530 Feet 3. W. of the Alaska_3haft on the

carrying high value in gold, s ilv e r and copper. The formation

somewhat va ries from the Alaska, having some uorphyry and a strong

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT.

THIS A GREEMENT, made and entered info this 26th day of

July, A.D. 1 911, between Charles E. Harrison,^ of Denver, Colorado, party of the f irs t part, and Lippencott and MeClave, of the same place, parties of the second part,

WITNESSETH:

That the party of the first part has leased and rented, and by these presents, does lease and rent to the parties of the

second part, The Yukon and Alaska Lode Mi ning claims, situate in The Cochetopa Mining District, County of Saquache, and State of Colorado, being patented claims, together with a ll the right,

titl e and interest of the fir st party in and to seven (7) located, unpatented adjoining claims,

TO H AVE A ND T O H OLD th e same from and after the date hereof until and including the firs t day of January, 1915.

On condition, however, that the parties of the second part will caute to be done upon said property, beginning with the fir st dajr of September, 1911, at least ten (10) feet of shafting work, or, in lieu thereof, thirty (30) feet of drifting, al l of such work to be well and properly done, and to be well and securely timbered at all points where timbering shall be necessary.

IT IS FURTHER A GREED th at out of al l ores to be taken by said second parties from the said property during said period, they shall pay to the party of the first part ten per cent in royalty, after deducting the expense of hauling, shipping and treating such ores, and that the said lessee will render to the first party on or before the 10th day of each callendar month

a true and correct statement of a l l labor performed and improve­ ments made, together with al l ores marketed during the nreceeding eallendar month, accompanied "by vou chers and checks for the roy­ alties due upon such shipments.

If IS FURTHER A GREED AID U NDERSTOOD a s a part of this contract, and as a further condition of the said lease, that the party of the f irst part grants to the second parties an option to purchase the said property for the sum o f $20,000.00, payable as follows:

$1,000.00 on or before the f irst day of September, 1911, $2,500.00 on or before the first day of January, 1912, §5,000.00 on or before the first day of July, 1912, and §11500.00 on or before the first day of January, 1913.

AND IT IS AGREED t hat upon the payment of said §1,000.00, the f irst party will deposit in the bank, to be selected by the second parties, a proper deed of said pro ~erty to be held by said bank in escrow, with the usual escrow agreement, conditioned for the delivery of such deed upon the final payment of such purchase money.

Time is of the essence of this agreement, and in the event that the parties of the second part shall fai l to make any one of said payments hereinbefore provided for on or before the day of i t s maturity, or shall fail to comply w ith the terms of said agreement in any other respect, then this lease and option shall be forfeited at the option of the party of the f irs t part, and he may reenter and take possession of said property with or without process of law.

IT IS FURTHER A GREED t hat the second parties shall commence work upon said property within 15 days from/the date of this agree­ ment ,
