Growers in the Bayard factory district, aided by almost ideal October harvesting weather, pushed their harvesting past the half.way point this week. Lowell Giauque, manager of the Bayard district, said that the harvesting in his district has been moving along rapidly in most areas. He stated the sugar content is good, but the 'big increase has leveled off.
It was also announced that Great Western Sugar Company's final payment on the 1966 sugar beet crop in the Bayard district was made Oct. 24. District grow-ers received $406,543.
