Sam Judd, Reeves, Schneider and I talked about removal of hill at Granby. Sam says Savage and Hiley are agreeable to leaving it. I recall Howell’s statement that he would leave it. Saturday. At Green Mtn Dam with the Technical club. Talked to Bampas about governors. Suggested a Leeds and Northrop. Similar controller might be a solution to their problem. A ¼ turn on the slash pot screw will give stability operation but ½ turn open is required if they are to maintain frequency. They would be unstable if knocked off the line at this setting. Reservoir spilling over top of gates. 140 [illegible] valves. Both turbines at about 0.79 gate develop total of 28000 KW. They get 1.5 miles and 5 when governing. REG 6/30/47
