SECRETARY SEATON ANNOUNCES ACCELERATED DEPART~!ENT CONSTRUCTION PROGR»! Secretary of the Interior Fred A. Seaton today listed 95 projects in 30 States and Alaska which will be accelerated from currently appropriated funds

under the program made public by President Eisenhower March 8 in a letter to Senator William F. Kno'.rland and Representative Joseph W. ¥.artin.

The additional work to be undertaken will entan:the expenditure of

$25,067,408, Secretary Seaton said. This eJtount is in addition to $70,823,000 in supplemental appropriations for the reclamatioL program.

The projects on which work will be accelerated or initiated, using funds released from budgetary reserves on instructions by the President, are widely scattered throughout the United States and Alaska.

They include construction of school facilities and roads by the Bureau of Indian Affairs; buildings, utilities, roads, trails, and parkways by the National Park Service; laboratory facilities by the Bureau of Commercial Fisheries; fish hatcheries and improvements on wildlife refuges by the Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife; and public works in Alaska by the Office of Territories.
