Dear Mr. Albertson:

I am responding to your recent letter to Mr. H. U. Littrell,

my predecessor at the bank. You will recall that in the letter

you made certain requests in connection with the Citi zens

Committee on Future Directions for the Peace Corps.

Unfortunately, we do operate on a fairly strict annual

donations budget and find it virtually impossible to fund items

which we do not know about in advance.

We are, o f course, receiving large numbers of requests in view

of the funding needs of most of the worthwhile organizations

such as yours in our area.

As a result, we will be unable to support y ou a t this time,

but we do wish y ou well with your project and hope that we

might be able to be of assistance at some future date.

Sincerely,
