toisture retains in place at the surface and aloft with dew points

near to above

Already heavy rains are occuring on the plains

east of Lariter County and radar returns are widespread to the

. south with a northward slow tovetent. Low pressure over the southwest

part of the US and high pressure over Teias will continue to feed

copious atounts of toisture into the area and the day's

heat

will be

enough to kick up storts this afternoon and tonight with slow tovetent

and heavy rain.

We have received aeasured rain totals of five inches fro• the aouth of

the Poudre Canyon and aore than six inch "bucket" aeasureaents around

Laporte since yesterday evening. Radar has estiaated

4 inches of rain

just this aorning Just southwest of Poudre Park. Reaarkablly, while the

west and northwest parts of Fort Collins have had aore than an inch of

rain this aorning, at MSHS on Suaait View near 1-25 and Mulberry only

a few hundreths of an inch of rain has fallen this aorning.

Elsewhere no precipitation is detected in Lari1er County, however a

strong line of thunderstor1s is over Held County. Onless a gust

front co1es out of that stor1 and 1oves into the foothills it should

have no affect on Lariaer County. If the gust front does reach Lari1er County

can rapid thunderstor1 develop1ent could occur in the eastern part of

the county renewing the threat of heavy rain.

Nhile the flash flood watch continues for Lari1er County through 1idnight
