Stance-taking and Positioning in the
European Parliament
The making of Europe is a long-span project in which the European Parliament plays a key role. From a discourse analytical perspective, this thesis examines the ways in which the Members of the European Parliament collaboratively compete to construct and reinforce intergroup boundaries at public debates.
Nazlı Avdan is a researcher at the Graduate School in
Language and Culture in Europe at the Department of Culture and Communication, Linköping University. This is her doctoral dissertation.
