Road Drainage i Bern, våren 1978
tiden 1978-05-22--05-24.
Inläggen hade uppdelats i 5 olika grupper (Sessions)
med följande rubriker
I
Hydrologiska data för dimensionering av vägars
dräneringssystem.
II Vägens geometri, vägytans egenskaper, säkerhet.
III
Vägkroppens dränering.
IV
Miljöskydd.
V
symposiet.
Sid 1
SESSION I
beräkningsmetoder i 14 olika länder;
Genomgående används en formel utvecklad av "Corps of
Engineers".
in-strumentet placeras.
går i dräneringssystemet.
dimensionerings-metoden.
Sid 2
SESSION II
De tre huvudpunkterna i denna sessionen var
1. utformning av övergångskurvor för bästa
vattenav-rinning
2. ökad olycksfrekvens vid våt vägbana
3. Öppen asfaltbeläggning
A. Schmuck, München och H.R. Schilling, Schweiz hade
i större olycksfrekvens hade konstaterats i flera
Man
alla registrerade trafikolyckor under tiden 1971-75
hade skett på våt vägbana. Olika åtgärder till
för-bättring av trafiksäkerheten omtalades, däribland
användningen av öppen asfaltbetong.
En ställföreträdare för P.M.W. Elsenaar, Holland,
15% utlagd i tjockleken 20-40 mm. Följande punkter
framhölls.
Sid 3
l. Receptsammansättningen kunde göras enligt en metod
av "Federal Highway Administration" - generellt
skulle bitumen-pr0centen vara så stor som möjligt.
4. Med hjälp av en "självränsande effekt" skulle
beläggningen i hjulspåren hålla sig öppen längre
tid än i nödfilen, enligt holländska erfarenheter.
Sid 4
SESSION III
Inläggen om vägkroppens dränering hade Uppdelats i
I den första delen berättade K.B. Wallace, Australien,
om sina teoretiska analyser av vattenfördelningen i
vägkroppen. Speciellt hade man studerat hur vägrenens
i vägbeläggningen.
_ -.._n w- ....
-..ü-.-Flera franska projekt rapporterades, bl a pågår ett
G.W. Ring, USA, berättade om dimensioneringskriterier
för dräneringssystem i USA, där konstruktionen, visad
i bilaga 5, används i en enda stat. I övrigt utdelades
en förteckning över pågående relevanta
forskningspro-jekt som styrs av "Federal Highway Administration"
(FHWA). Se bilaga 6.
Sid 5
J.L. Pavte, Frankrike.
I övrigt efterlystes inlägg
om materialegenskaper och "soil suction" (negativt
porvattentryck).
SESSION IV
mycket billigare i Danmark använda sedimentationsdammar
- J.E. Borch-Jensen
-"Run-off from motorways passing
open country or rural areas".
man jämfört
koncentrationen av föroreningar från sammanlagt 15 olika
ställen för dräneringsvatten från motorvägen Nl med
koncentrationerna i regnvatten. Se bilaga 8. Liknande
undersökningar pågick även i England: "Correlations
of hydrological conditions with water quality in
motor-way runoff" av W. Pope m fl och i Schweiz: "Pollution
Sid 7
SESSION V
Den egentliga utformningen av dräneringssystemet blev
belyst i 6 inlägg.
May utfört

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA concentrated its activities on
three major areas: control of culvert outlet erosion, control of local
scour around bridge pier , and control CC_SQGlEinC produced by highway
construction.
Its major efforts were carr
out by.staff and contract
research, and by the various studies in the Highway Planning and Research
Program (HER) and in the National Coooerative Highway Research Program
(NCHRP).

ular concern for this study are debris
accumulation, stream hed changes, channel bank erosion, changes
in flow alignment, waves, wind end tidal erosion, and ice problems. The study will_result in a systematic evaluation approach for deter-mination of hydraulic conditions at a stream crossing, giving
con-sideration to the entire stream environment including its geology,
geomorphology and landuse on the flocd plain. The approach will,
hopefully, make determination of the hazards which pose stream
crossing design problems more accurate and complete. The structure

potential problems are not serious. ry using the approach the
hydraulic or bridge engineer would be less likely to overlook a hydraulic problem and may be able to complete his site evaluation
with less trouble and greater confid nce. The study is designed to
be a combined research-implementation package.
The research will
be conducted over the next year and development follows for an
additional 6 months.

The Federal Highway Administration has contracted with Tye Engineering
of Fairfax, Virginia to conduct a study entitled Debris Problems
in the River Environment.
This study is aimed at determining the
importance of trees and other water horne debris in causing bridge
damage during floods.
Also the study will examine the significance
of the factors which determin: debris potential for accumulation at
bridges. Preliminary rescl s from :he effort show that debris is
estimated to be a ' in almost 20% of all bridge
failures.
