b. bente nilsenn is a registered nurse and a Public Health Nurse. She has also studied social anthropology and has a master degree in Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture from Norges Tekniske Naturvitenskaplige University (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway. For almost 20 years, she worked at children’s hospitals in Norway, with special focus on infectious diseases, asthma/allergy and child sexual abuse. In 2009 she started working as university lecturer at the Public Health Nurse advanced level program in Oslo where she still holds a position.
B. Bente Nilsens’ research areas is in the field of auxiology, with special focus on a healthy growth among children and factors related to this. The central theme of this thesis explores somatic growth among schoolchildren and deviant growth patterns as episodes of weight loss and obesity develop-ment, including some aspects of meal patterns and food intake.
