AbstrAct:
Worldwide fund wealth is tremendous and fund managers’
decision outcomes affect many people. this is specifically true in Sweden because the vast majority of Swedes invest in funds through national retirement and/or occupational pension systems. additionally, the decisions of equity fund managers influence listed companies’ access to capital.
insights into fund managers has a widespread of scientific and practical implications.
in a crude division, previous scientific enquiries focus on either one of the two above dimensions of fund manage- ment: (1) fund manager decision processes, or (2) fund performance. Mainly, the former stream relies on surveys, while the latter relies on archival methods. in my ReC-talk, i will present new insights made by combining the two streams. For the first time, i will present findings from two questionnaire studies with unique identifiers, conducted in early 2013 and late 2016, and linked archival data of over one hundred fund managers. i will focus on how fund managers acquire information in their daily job and impacts on fund performance.
