Renal colic is said to be one of the most excruciating forms of suffering that humans can encounter, and is a common reason for emergency department visits all over the world. Computed tomography plays a central role in the workup of this disease. The aim of this thesis was to optimize the information obtained from computed tomography scans to allow a well-founded diagnosis and prognosis, and to guide the clinician as early and as far as possible in further treatment of urinary stone disease.
