Test Data Post-Processing and Analysis

Master Thesis – Test Data Post-Processing and Analysis of Link Adaptation and Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (30+30p)

Description

The purpose is to help Long Term Evolution Interoperability Development Testing (LTE IODT) Data analysis. LTE IODT wants to automatically generate analysis of Link Adaptation (LA) and Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) tests where we sweep through Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) for different channel models. The LTE IODT lab test logs give a unique opportunity to look into detailed behavior of link and rank adaptation for both downlink and uplink.

This is a post-process of LA and HARQ test data and makes analysis by the e.g. MATLAB to generate SINR/Throughput curves. The output should be recorded and automatically compared with the recommended minimum requirements of the 3GPP standards and Ericsson Research.

Task

Develop a lightweight analyzer that simply produces statistic:

 Handle multiple input sources

 Study and understand the 3GPP standards and Ericsson Research

 Analyze the data from processing for the final graph

 Evaluate a suitable tool for the processing of data, e.g. MATLAB or other tools

 Capability to correlate the graph to logs in order to facilitate troubleshooting

Qualifications

This project aims at Master of Science (Civilingenjör) students in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering or equivalent academic program. Typically skills required:

• Deep knowledge in signal processing

• General experience in post-processing of data and programming in e.g. MATLAB

• Knowledge of LTE (4G) preferred Extent
