Guidelines for Nomination
Nominations are accepted from anyone interested in the field of research in medical education. A nomination can be submitted by e-mail to Anna Kiessling
(Anna.Kiessling@ki.se) at any time. To be considered for the prize in 2022, your nomination(s) must have reached the Karolinska Institutet Prize Committee no later than 30 September 2021. Nominations received will be confirmed by e-mail to the nominator.
New for this nomination period is that we will only consider new or updated nominations from previous period. This implies that that we will not consider older, not updated nominations.
General Information
The purpose of the Karolinska Institutet Prize for Research in Medical Education is to recognize and stimulate high-quality research in medical education, thereby promoting long-term improvements in educational practices. ‘Medical’ includes all education and training within any health science profession. Nominees shall have made outstanding, and internationally recognized, contributions to research in medical education. Your nomination(s) may be based on not only studies made in a health science setting, but also on other research relevant to medical education. The nominee’s findings must have been published in internationally and generally available journals or books. All key publications must be available in English. The Prize can be shared.
Nomination Nomination form:
Write your nomination as a text document. Save it in one of the following formats: Word or PDF. Send it by e-mail to Anna.Kiessling@ki.se.
If you are nominating several nominees: Send a separate nomination form for each nominee if you nominate them to individually receive the Prize. Send one form if you nominate them to jointly receive the Prize.

● Briefly (a few sentences, up to one printed page) justify your nomination.

● The nominee’s most important research findings.

● The relevance of the findings, either for medical education in general or for a specific education within the health sciences.
● Impact of the nominee´s research results on educational practice, or on studies by other researchers.
● References for up to ten key publications within the field of medical
education with the nominee as a principal investigator. The publications must be in English and accessible in internationally and generally available journals or books.
● Indicate your reasons for nominating two or three individuals to jointly receive the Prize (if applicable).
General:
● Swedish regulations stipulate that nominations are public, but please use the information restrictively.
