CEMS block seminar in creating business models

Welcome to Stockholm the startup capital of Europe. Stockholm is the second most prolific tech hub in the world on a per capita basis, behind Silicon Valley, In fact, if you played a game on your phone today, listened to music online or video-phoned a friend, chances are you used a Swedish company. Skype became Stockholm’s first unicorn when it was bought by eBay for $2.6bn in 2005 – just two years after it launched – and has since been followed by Spotify, Candy Crush parent King, Minecraft maker Mojang and the payments service Klarna. So what’s different? As Mr Zennström put it: “Success breeds success.” This unique environment together with our CEMS partner European Space Agency (ESA) invites you to a challenging CEMS Block Seminar – Creating business models.

The block seminar runs from 9 am the 15th of August to the 21nd of August. Our intention is to provide a unique learning situation together with our partner ESA where you are introduced to a new space technology which will be used as a foundation for the business model development process. We will visit the space center, Esrange, in a city above the arctic circle called Kiruna during the seminar. At the end of the program the solution is presented to ESA and their partners. The entire program is embedded in the space business development eco system in Stockholm and Uppsala.

The program covers central aspect of the business modelling process. It also combines conceptual development with a practical process were you will work in multi-disciplinary teams trying to solve real world problems. These are then presented to potential buyers, investors and other stakeholders in the space ecosystem.
