En metodologisk begränsning med denna studie är att den pågående COVID-19-krisen som beaktas inte var över vid tidpunkten för denna studie. Uppfattningar angående vilka specifika lärdomar som varit mest relevanta för våra respondenter och vilka specifika lagringsutrymmen som har använts kan komma att förändras under fortsättningen av krisen. En teoretisk begränsning är att studiens analysmodell endast fokuserar på krisinlärningsprocessen mellan två specifika händelser, när organisationer i själva verket drar lärdom från olika processer kontinuerligt. Alltså är modellen endast en ofullständig bild av hur organisationer lär sig från kriser.
