Den här uppsatsen bidrar med underlag till mer extensiva studier för att undersöka om könsskillnaderna i etiska resonemang kring konsumtion återfinns i en större skala, om andra demografiska faktorer och personlighetsfaktorer kan påverka och förklara sådana skillnader, samt om användandet av ett visst etiskt resonemang kan förklara nivån av etisk konsumtion. Longitudinella studier av både kvalitativ och kvantitativ karaktär skulle vara intressanta, då flera respondenter säger att deras åsikter i frågan har förändrats över tid. Flera respondenter nämner en successiv förändring och refererar till en åldersmässig mognadsprocess, medan andra betonar påverkan av yttre faktorer såsom att börja på universitet eller en förändrad familje- och hushållssituation. Att undersöka förändringsprocesser över tid samt jämföra hur individer resonerar moraliskt före och efter sådana livshändelser skulle därmed vara

intressant, inte minst för att se hur de följer den moraliska utvecklingsprocess som har beskrivits i teorin och där observera likheter och skillnader mellan män och kvinnor.
