4 Empiriskt resultat och analys
6.1 Fortsatt forskning
Studien belyser hur ett antal kommuner och regioner använder Green IS och EMS i sina verksamheter. En kunskapslucka infinner sig fortfarande då forskning saknas i hur Green IS och EMS används och implementeras i ett bredare perspektiv. Därmed skulle vi rekommendera att genomföra dessa forskningsfrågor på fler kommuner och regioner i Sverige. Det vore av intresse att se huruvida en studie utförd i andra kommuner och regioner skulle innehålla liknande empiriska fynd. Vi anser att den här studien kan agera underlag för fortsatt forskning inom ämnet. Detta genom att ha
identifierat områden som stärker klimatarbete med hjälp av Green IS och EMS. Det hade även setts som givande att, utöver en små-N-studie, genomföra en fallstudie på de tillfrågade kommunerna och regionerna. Det för att få tillgång till mer fullständig information angående användning av digitala verktyg och dess påverkan.
Vidare vore det intressant att undersöka vilka aspekter som kommuner och regioner ser som viktiga för en fortsatt digitalisering och implementering av Green IS och EMS. Slutligen vore det lämpligt att undersöka konkret klimatpåverkan i några av de beslut som genomförts med hjälp av beräkning, rapportering och visualisering av klimatdata.
