Klagomål från patienter angående bristande kommunikation är vanligt och fortsätter att öka. En önskan från författarna till denna litteraturöversikt är att öka ambulanspersonalens

medvetenhet gällande sin kommunikation till patienter i syfte att förbättra kommunikationen och således främja personcentrerad vård. En mer personcentrerad vård skulle kunna bidra till en starkare vårdrelation mellan patient och ambulanspersonal, högre patientsäkerhet, ökad patientnöjdhet, färre vårdskador samt vara till samhällsekonomisk nytta, tack vare bland annat kortare vårdtider. Kommunikation inom ambulanssjukvård bör därav vara ett ämne som prioriteras på specialistsjuksköterskeutbildningen inom ambulanssjukvård eftersom detta skulle kunna bidra till förbättrad hälsa hos både ambulanspersonal och patienter. Ytterligare forskning är önskvärt om varför kommunikationen mellan ambulanspersonal och patienter brister samt vad ambulanspersonal själva kan göra för att bidra till förbättrad kommunikation. För att öka medvetenheten hos ambulanspersonal, gällande patientens upplevelse av

kommunikation, kommer denna litteraturöversikt finnas tillgänglig på författarnas arbetsplats samt på internet för allmänheten att ta del av.
