The 1967 sugar beet harvest is 95 per cent complete, Great Western Sugar Co. officials esti-mated Wednesday.
No figures are available at this time as to yield. However, Don Redman, manager of the Eaton factory, said indications are the average crop harvest "could reach 15 to 16 tons per acre" in his district.
Redman added that sugar con-tent in this year's crop is aver-aging about three-fourths per cent higher than last year.
All factory officials agreed "it's a good harvest, with ex-cellent ground conditions," and if the weather holds, the har-vest could well be completed by the end of next week.
Tonnage of beets being haul-ed to various dumps by grow-ers is down in areas which were hit by heavy hail storms earlier thi~ year, it was no~ted.
