Additional Information on· William M. Nelson
William M. Nelson, who becomes assistant manager at Bayard March 15, has had comprehensive farming experience.
He was born at Marquette, Kansas, where his father Carl A. Nelson, now retired, operated 1,000 acres of wheat, corn, milo, alfalfa and forage sorghum with livestock.
After completing country school work near Marquette, Nelson entered Kansas State University where he was graduated, 1954, B. S. agri-culture. That fall he began teaching vocational agriculture at Scandia, Kan.
Mr. Nelson entered the Air Force in 1955 and was discharged as first lieutenant in 1957, his entire service being at Lowry Air Force Base, Denver.
In 1957 he went to Lovell, Wyo. as apprentice fieldman and has been at Mitchell, Nebr., as fieldman since 1958.
Mr. Nelson was married in Pµeblo, Colo., in 1956 to Miss Dorothy Smith. They have two daughters: Barbara, 8, and Nancy, 4.
He was a member of Farm House fraternity of which he was presi-dent at Kansas State; a member of the livestock-judging team two years and, at Mitchell, has been president of the Community Club and ambassador for Ak-Sar-Ben. The Nelsons are members of the Federated Churches of Mitchell.
