Re: Antelope Hill
This letter is to veri fy in writ i ng our te lephone conver sa ti on of October 15 concerning the residence on Antelope Hill near Windsor, Co lorado. We inspec ted the su bject site with your Mr. Henry Baski.
Subsof l exposed on the top of the hi ll was moderately cemented sandstone bedrock with a gravel cap i n some areas. It appears that the g ravel has been s t ripped· and used to 1 ine ditches and roads in the area. The soils exposed on the lower portions of the hi ll were sand y clays with some gi avel.
It is not possible to determine the thi ckness of the sandstone without explorator y holes ; however, we do not .believe that it will be any problem to construct a residence on this hill.
Bare sandstone this g round want s t o have to be imported. low the cres t of the f rom the wind .

It may be desirable to locate the residence be-h ill on tbe-he sou tbe-h slope to provide some protection If we can be of furt her serv ice , please call.
Very t ruly yours, CHEN AND ASSOCIATES

and U, thet Is about one-ha If mlle eest of Antelope lt II I. The capeelty of the ditch appears to b• "' excess ef 10 cfs. At the presaitti• corn Is grown on the subject larid under the letete1; however, we have
no fnforwetlon on historic crop yl Ids.
Shallow Irrigation welts, that Is wells less than SO f t Cleep, are locat d
tn the ~ral vicinity of the subject lend end have Indicated yield$ of up
to 1.000 gpm. The property Is In the North Weld County W ter District, whleh
Is headquartered Jn Windsor. Mr. Ill Moore, telephone 6'6-21911 can provide
additional Information on the water district; however, he has reportect that the tap charge for a S/8•1nch service would be $250 and that the nthly charge for up to S,000 ellons per month would be $10.00. Another arran
e-anent exists with tM District whereby 12,000 gallons of water would be evaJ1- _
able In any given month for $1S.SO per month. We do not ~t this t1111e know
where the weter Ins are In respect to th property In question; however,
the general policy of the Olstrtct Is to run one-half mil of water aln free before requiring a specfal contrtbutlon front the customer. It Is o opinion at this tf11e that th d stlc water supply for t ts property should obtained
from th North W Id County W ter District to obviate problem and questions essoclated with drilling of Individual wells for domestic water. We believe, however, that the drJtJ Ing of an Irrigation well should most certainly be con·
sldered to supplement the ditch water. There fs no reason why water could not
be P""'P•d up to storage tank on the hlll to provide Irrigation water for
l~rted vegetation of . decorative nature.
If Mr. Smith Is Interested In acquiring thfs piece of property as a home
site nd perhaps with the fdea of so subdivision of the land In the future, we see no reason why he should not proceed with obtaining an option for the pro~rty. Once the opt.Ion was In hand, more d tal fed studies could be made
to Insure that no major and sJgnlf le nt obstac1 s exfsted which would preclude future good develop nt of this pl ce of I nd. We would like to point out that , there wf 11 probably be a wind problem at times on top of the hllJ. and with this
Jn ~Ind, any home located on the hf 11 should probably be located on the south slope to provide some protection from the wind.
Please do not hesitate to contact u If you have any questions on this review or .If you M>vld I Ike addition 1 tters Inv st I gated further.
