He was born in Kearney, Nebr., where his father, the late Tuttle Peterson, had a large corn-hog-cattle farming operation.
After completing elementary and high-school courses at Riverdale,
Nebr., Mr. Peterson attended Kearney State Teachers College in 1941. His
war service took him to Washington in 1942 on special work with the F. B. I.
following which he served with the military police in England, Belgium, France, Luxemburg and Germany.
Discharged in 1945, Mr. Peter son farmed in 1946 with his brother Lee
on the family farm near Kearney. The next year he entered CSU and was
graduated (B. S. agronomy) in 1950.
Mr. Peterson entered Great Western service as apprentice fieldman
at Brighton in 1950 and went to Kimball, Nebr., as fieldman the following year.
In 1954-he was transferred to Laurel, Mont .. , as fieldman and was promoted
to assistant manager at Billings in 1964.
Mr. Peterson was married to Miss Lois Binkley in Denver in 1950.
They have three children: Linda, Virginia and Beth Ann. He is a Mason and
an Elk and he and his wife are members of the Methodist church.
