Title (English)

Finding the value of biotechnology - a risk-adjusted net present value approach

Title (Swedish) Abstract

The objective of the project was to develop and evaluate a risk-adjusted net present valuation model; to examine how proceedings in clinical development, different indications and different market assumptions affect the value of biotechnology and products. According to the developed model, based on sensitivity analysis, scenario analysis and Monte Carlo simulation, the most important parameters are: market share, price, transition probabilities and time spent in development. Monte Carlo simulation was found to be a good but time-consuming method to quantify uncertainty in underlying estimates.
