marcus sagerfors was born in Kalmar in 1977. Af-ter medical school in Uppsala (2003) and an inAf-ternship, he completed training in Orthopaedic Surgery (2010) and Hand Surgery (2012) at Örebro University Hospital. He is a hand surgeon at the Department of Hand Surgery, Örebro University Hospital.

In this thesis, he investigates the patient-related functional outcome after total wrist arthroplasty (TWA) and then continues to assess implant survival and radiographic loosening in a cohort of TWA patients using four types of TWA and prospective collection of data. He also studies a new TWA design kinematically in a cadaveric model. Finally, he assesses the outcome of a new TWA in a pilot study.
