“Ireland’s Economy: the Road to Recovery”

Dr. Alan Ahearne

National University of Ireland, Galway

The Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) has the pleasure to invite you to a lecture on the Irish economy with Dr. Alan Ahearne, Head of Economics at the Cairnes School of Business and Economics at the National University of Ireland, Galway on Thursday, December 5, 09:30 – 11.00.

Dr. Ahearne will present a lecture on the prospects for Ireland’s economy just 10 days before the completion of the EU-IMF program.

Ireland is set to return to market financing without a pre-arranged precautionary credit facility against a background where domestic and international economic conditions are improving, monetary policy decisions are conducive to market access, and where confidence and sentiment towards Ireland have improved considerably in recent months.

Dr. Ahearne will provide his insight on the current state of the Irish economy and how it might perform in the period ahead.

The presentation will be introduced and chaired by Torbjörn Becker, Director at SITE.

Time will be available for questions and answers after the presentation.

Date: Thursday December 5, 09.30 Starting with registration and coffee, followed by the lecture at 10.00.
