thFebruary, Virtual session 09:00-10:00 (CET)
The potential of the Olympic Games as a venue for societal change and development is great. Countries and regions are often working on wider societal issues in parallel with the main sports events. The upcoming Tokyo Olympics show strong commitment in using the event for the promotion of technology and sustainability.
As part of the SSE Sports and Business Week, the European Institute of Japanese Studies will have a special event focused on “Sports and Societal Development”. This will also mark a Japan-day of the week. With the focus on the Tokyo Olympics, we have the great pleasure to listen to Ms. Maki Kobayashi, the Executive Director of Communications and Engagement of the Tokyo Olympic Committee. Ms. Maki Kobayashi will discuss how the work with the Olympics also facilitates engagement with sustainability, digitalization and smart cities.
