Medical Lecture Tickets
On Exhibit: November 2016 to November 2017
Before the rigorous application process of formal medical education was required, anyone who could afford a few dollars could attend medical lectures, and eventually become a doctor.
The Medical Lecture Ticket exhibit showcases several lecture tickets from all over the US, including from the University of Denver’s Dental Department and the Denver and Gross Medical College. The tickets represent an era where there was little regulation and oversight.
Although seen as democratizing education, the medical ticket system often led to abuse and poorly trained doctors. The tickets disappeared as medical education reformers began to create the modern medical school application process and curriculum that medical school follow today.

Linda Susak - Landscape Painter
On Exhibit: October 2 to October 31, 2017
"Human inventions can never equal the inherent beauty of nature, especially the Western landscape with its infinite, expansive views that refresh the soul." Linda Susak
Linda's paintings of landscapes and isolated, abandoned and ancient sites are derived from photographs, yet seek to capture the historical, spiritual, almost mystical layers beneath the photograph of the actual site.
Passages
Artist: Sarah Van Beckum
Exhibitions of abstract paintings by Sarah Van Beckum | Anschutz Medical Campus Community was an exhibition presented by the Exhibits
Committee of the Strauss Health Sciences Library.
Nature's forms are a major source of inspiration in Sarah's art. Her art is full of abstractions but also reveals imagery suggestive of something more established and concrete.
Sarah's approach to color is eclectic. She says, "I don't really 'select' the colors. I try to 'feel' the relationship between them."
