Light breeze from the north. (Probably not more than 10 m.p.h.) Day clear with slight haze. Had been clear all day.

Some evidence of buckling near shore on south side of lake. Shadow of fill on south side of lake covers about 10 feet of ice adjacent to the shore. The ice on the south shore was solid but there was a

depression from about 10 ft and to 20 ft and (estimated) in bank water stand all along the bank. The ice near the shore sloped toward the lake. The lake had been falling. Mr Binnel started that on previous years the ice shore had occurred on the south shore.

About five radical zones & crushing extend from the shore to the open water in the center. Contra Costa model Tent No. 2

4 ft section of hail screen placed in canal of water surface. Very little effect on waves. 4 ft section of fly screen placed on top of hail screen produced definite [illegible] of waves but not completely supress then present Pomeroy Glover Swain.

Test CC-3-B-1 waves generated by opening gates at upstream and canal with 1” high baffles at 4 ft intervals. 2 rank. These baffles largely prevent the development of cnoidal waves.
