I appreciated the opportunity to meet with you, Frank Milenski, and the Catlin Canal ditch riders on December 23. Together we inspected the State Engineer's 1985 aerial photo maps and identified the fields irrigated by the Catlin Canal. These fields were compared to the irrigated fields identified by the State Engineer's staff. I noted the discrepancies, and the revised irrigated acreages are presented herein.
The changes were primarily due to revisions to the sources of water used on certain fields. Also, some fields were identified by .the State Engineer's staff as non-irrigated when it should have been identified as irrigated in 1985. Following is a summary of the revised values:

The total Catlin acreage is the sum of the "Highline & Catlin", "Catlin & Otero", and "Catlin" entries.
This summary does not include the parks, lawns and gardens irrigated within the City of Rocky Ford with water delivered from the Catlin Canal. You estimated that this may add approximately 400 acres to the totals shown above.
Attached is the table which will replace the table of irrigated acreages presented earlier for the Storage Needs Assessment sponsored by SECWCD. Please note that I added the "Highline & Catlin" and "Catlin & Otero" acreages to the summary instead of including the acreages with the individual ditches. I felt there would be less confusion on presenting Valley-wide totals.
