7.2 Förslag till fortsatt forskning

I denna studie presenteras en samlad bild över hur förutsättningarna för sex småföretag inom teknisk industriell handel ser ut utifrån digitaliseringens möjligheter och utmaningar. Det är breda data som omfattar olika processer, tankesätt och användning av digital teknik utan att gå djupare i analysen av ett specifikt område.

Studien är i så måtto en ögonblicksbild av de studerade företagen som sannolikt ser annorlunda ut framöver, med tanke på utvecklingen inom industrin.

Förslag till forskning bör baseras på en större population i syfte att få bekräftelse på resultaten från denna studie. Det skulle kunna vara en kombination av exempelvis kvantitativa studier inom specifika område och funktioner i småföretag, exempelvis inköpsprocessen.

Eftersom denna studie använt ett teoretiskt perspektiv, finns begränsningar. Det skulle därför vara givande att på liknande företag använda andra teoretiska perspektiv, i syfte att undersöka tillämplighet på småföretagens situation.
