6. Slutsats & Diskussion

6.3 Framtida forskning

Då studiens intervjuer endast innefattar tio stycken intervjupersoner innebär detta att studiens resultat endast visar en del av användarna och inte går att applicera generellt på alla användare. Utifrån tidsramen för forskningen och de befintliga resurserna kunde inte fler intervjupersoner inkluderas vilket innebär en möjlighet att utföra ytterligare forskning inom ämnet i framtiden.

Förslagsvis skulle man kunna genomföra en studie med större omfattning och fler intervjupersoner, antingen genom intervjuer eller enkäter, för att komma fram till ett mer generaliserat resultat. Alternativt skulle det kunna göras en enfallsstudie med en nischad målgrupp för att uppnå ett mer inriktat resultat på specifika typer av användare. Som tidigare nämnt i avsnitt 1.5, intervjuades endast personer som bodde i Sverige då intervjuguiden var på svenska. Därav skulle det kunna vara intressant att replikera studien i andra länder för att se om resultatet påverkas på grund av faktorer som till exempel andra socioekonomiska bakgrunder, kulturskillnader och hur långt nationaliteterna har kommit i digitalisering av samhället.

En annan möjlighet skulle kunna vara att endast rikta in sig på Facebook eller endast en av plattformarna för att göra studiens fokusområde ännu smalare. I detta fall skulle man kunna utföra studien från en organisatorisk synvinkel, för att försöka komma fram till rekommendationer för en organisation som driver sociala medier angående vilka åtgärder som kan göras för att öka användares förtroende, användande och minska deras upplevda risker.
