Performer Biographies
Chris Jusell is a freelance violinist living in Denver. He is
principal first violin of the Greeley Philharmonic and a former member of the Fort Collins and Cheyenne Symphonies; he has also played with the Boulder
Philharmonic, Greensboro Symphony, Virginia Symphony, and Colorado Music Festival. Chris received his Bachelor’s in Music from Colorado State University, where he studied with Ron Francois. He has also studied with John Fadial, Maria Maxwell, and Vahn Armstrong. Chris started the Penumbra String Quartet, and also plays with the chamber music- and literature-focused group Telling Stories.
Jennie Dorris is a percussionist and writer who lives in
Denver. She has performed with the Colorado Ballet, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Fort Collins Symphony, Boulder Philharmonic, and Greeley Philharmonic, as well as the Boulder Brass, Mont Alto Motion Picture
Orchestra, Colorado Music Festival, and Colorado Chamber Orchestra. She is the founder and director of the award-winning chamber series Telling Stories, which is now produced as a radio show for Colorado Public Radio. She teaches interdisciplinary programs at the Denver School of the Arts and with the Harmony Project. She has held teaching positions at CU-Boulder, Red Rocks Community College, and the Community College of Denver. In 2010 she was named a Mastermind by Westword.
