ACTION TAKEN AT MEETING OF POLICY AND REVIEW COMMITTEE, GUNNISON RIVER STORAGE December 10, 1952
Be it resolved by the Gunnison River Policy and Review Comnittee duly appointed pursuant to resolution of the Colorado Water Conservation Board that
1. A reservoir at the Curecanti site of a capacity of not less than 940,000 acre-feet or such greater capacity as nay be obtained by a high water line located at 7520 feet above nean sea level shall be included
as a unit for initial authorization and construction under the Colorado River Storage Project.
2. Additional prinary storage capacity, excluding storage capacity
for participating projects, in the anount of 510,000 acre-feet on the
Gunnison River or its tributaries above the Gunnison tunnel should be secured i f such storage can be attained by projects which have engineering
and econonic feasibility. The Colorado Water Conservation Board should
vigorously endeavor to secure the pronpt investigations of those sites. In the event that a.rry such sites are determined to have engineering and economic feasibility at a time prior to the authorization of the Colorado
River Storage Project by the Congress, then the authorization bill should
be so amended as to include such project or projects.
