Born at Brush, Colorado September 23, 1922.

Parents - Mr. & Mrs. C. L. Oldemeyer, Brush, Colo. Still living and operating a farm.

Elementary and High School at Brush, Colo. Graduated from High School in 1940.

Graduated CSU in 1940 B. S. Degree in Agronomy

Received M. S. in Genetics from University of Wisconsin 1948. Received PhD, Genetics Wisconsin 1950.

Married Shirley,S~hlessinger in 1944. ~hirley _is from Colorado Springs.

Daughter Janine, aged 14, is a high school freshman, active in Girl Scouts and music. Daughter Kristin, aged 11, is also a Girl Scout, and learning to play an instrument. Joined Great Western in 1950 as a plant breeder directly from school.

Served 36 months active service in the Army in World War II. Saw action in Europe in 1945 with the 3rd Armored Division under General Maurice Rose - three combat stars.

Member of the scholastic honary fraternity Phi Kappa Phi, honorary agricultural fraternity, Alpha Zeta and honorary research fraternity Sigma Xi. Member of the Agronomy Society of America, Genetics Society of America and the American Society of Sugar Beet Technologists.

Listed in American Men of Science.

Published professional papers in the Agronomy Journal and Sugar Beet Journal. Active member of the First Congregational Church in Longmont.

Dr. R. K. Oldemeyer, appointed director of seed development at Great Western's experiment station, was born at Brush, Colo., where his parents,

and Mrs. C. L. Oldemeyer, now live and operate their farm.

He was graduated from Colorado State University, B.S. in agronomy, in

1940.

He received his master's degree in genetics from the University of Wisconsin in

1948

and his Ph.D. in genetics at Wisconsin in

1950.

Dr. Oldemeyer served 36 months in the army and won three combat stars in Europe in

1945

with the 3rd Armored Division.

He entered Great Western service as a plant breeder at Longmont in

1950.

Dr. Oldemeyer is a member of the Agronomy Society of America, Genetics Society of America, The American Society of Sugar Beet

Technologists, Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Zeta and Sigma Xi.

His professional papers have been published in the Agronomy Journal and Sugar Beet Journal and he is listed in "American Men of Science."
