This short note this morning is a hurried acknowledgment
of your letter of July 21 and is supplemental to our
tele-phone conversation of Saturday.
First, the bill which President Eisenhower signed about
reclamation distribution systems has nothing to do with the
Small Projects Bill. I am having Miss Jenny enclose a copy
of the measure signed by the President.
The Small Projects bill is tied up in the Senate and
more than likely will not be disposed of until next session.
The Senate is trying to provide somewhat easier procedures for the
Reclamation East as opposed to Reclamation West. A copy of
the Senate bill is enclosed herewith.
I have had prepared a short blast ~n relation to the
scolding message the President sent the Senate and the ~t
air message McKay gave to the people in Denver. However, I
have not had time to get it in final shape for release
mayb_e .wont .until l l is too late.
If you are mixed up on the Colorado River legislation,
Bill, you should be in my shoes. However, it looks this
morning as if there is not likely to be considered this
session.
est regards,
