Second outdoor learning course in Turku, Finland

Novia University of Applied Sciences arranged the second outdoor course in Turku on the 4th of September (2014). The participants came from different organizations in Turku where they work with immigrants. The aim of the day was to give the participants new working tools and methods of integrating immigrants and newcomers in the Finnish society.

The course was held in the beautiful nature park in Ruissalo and the weather conditions left nothing more to desire; 22 degrees Celsius and sun from a clear blue sky!

Distance exercise for getting to know each other Nature object reflecting feelings

The course started in the morning with some ice breaking exercises and other interactive activities, using the surrounding nature in creative ways. As an example, the participants were to find an object symbolizing their home country, as well as a nature object that reminded them of their childhood or reflected a memory from the past. This activity was held by Katarina Johansson, project manager from the LINC-project´s lead partner Linköping University in Sweden. All the project managers in the LINC-project from the four different countries participated in the course this time, in order to develop the content in the upcoming curricula together.
